Wow, this is pretty amazing. "Google Earth" allows you to fly around the world in 3 dimensions while looking at surprisingly detailed hi-resolution satellite images. The picture above is where I used to live in Denmark. Sadly, for some reason the maps around Kanagawa in Japan are not very detailed, so I wasn’t able to find my humble abode in Hiratsuka, although I was able to vaguely pick out its location from looking at city names.

  2. The same for Kichijoji. For some reason that area is extremely low resolution compared to the surrounding area. I wonder what they are trying to hide… Maybe there’s some secret military installation or something here? Maybe it is area gojuuni?

Actually at first i couldn’t even find the station, so I found the Imperial Palace (you can ALWAYS spot that), and then traced my way back, first folloning the Hibiya line and then the Chuo line back through Shinjuku (WOW!) Nakano, Ogikubo, Nichi-ogikubo and finally Kichijoji.

Looking at Shinjuku on that map almost gave me vertigo!

    Hej Moster,

Beklager jeg har v?ret “frav?rende”! Tusind tak for brev og artikel, den var efter min mening faktisk relativt “n?jagtig” og undgik nogle af de stereotype beskrivelser af Japan man af og til ser…

Michael: Hope you’re shopping for Brazilian “omiyage” for me RIGHT now.

    Thor: L?nge siden. MEGET l?nge siden. :S
